Athienitis Cooking Lime Asvestis for Spoon Sweets Glyko 300g

Cooking Lime (Asvestis in Greek) is used in the making of spoon sweets glyko. The fruit is first soaked in a Lime and water solution to make it crispy, followed by soaking in Lemon juice and water solution to make it shiny and preserve its colour. It is then simmered in sugar (thick syrup) and preserved in glass jars.
